Project Description
Located in South Los Angeles, Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC) opened in 1967, on a 64 acre site, and was one of the first community colleges to serve the residents in this section of the city. Although LASC began as a series of temporary bungalows, the demand for permanent facilities to meet the needs of the surrounding community for technical training has transformed this campus into a "state-of-the-art" institution of learning. With their facilities master plan almost completed, LASC has modernized practically all of its existing structures with high-tech training labs and upgraded "smart" classroom technology. In addition, they have constructed many new facilities, which include a world class athletic facility and field, parking structures, administration and classroom buildings and extensive Sitework and landscaping. There is also a new "Middle College High School" building that offers students opportunities for joint high school and college credit courses.
